Plans are currently underway for another memorable symposium with an international field of speakers covering such cutting-edge topics as the genetic make-up of sled dogs, gene markers for various harmful and desirable traits; stem cell therapy; sled dog bioethics; laryngeal paralysis; and preliminary harness research. Over half a day will be dedicated to the anatomy, diseases, injuries, surgery, and rehabilitation of the sled dog spine and hind limbs. Other topics include the role of antibiotic therapy for diarrhea, nutritional advances, and conditioning the canine athlete.
